Trash Club

Founded by fashion designers Matthew Needham and Katy Mason in 2021, Trash Club is a new community for creatives who think like C.R.A.P. (Consiousness, Responsibility, Authenticity, People). Together in 2023, Trash Club and Palmetto have worked together to craft a new graphic identity to sit across the Trash Club brand and special projects.

Vans Varix WC Editorial for Footpatrol

The Varix WC is the first ever lifestyle shoe from Vans. The shoe blends a huge dose of inspiration from late 90s skate culture with modern footwear trends to provide a comfortable shoe for day-to-day wear. Working directly with the guys at Vans, we crafted creative direction, casting, styling and campaign imagery for its launch in collaboration with Footpatrol.

Showcase With A Difference; Product and Purpose was a two week long exhibition by Fashion Open Studio and Matthew Needham. The event culminated in a series of workshops by ten trailblazing fashion designers and textile artists. The exhibition presented different approaches to creating fashion, exploring the processes as well as highlighting the all important sense of purpose that motivates each designer.

What Lies Ahead was a group exhibition showcasing a cohort of 10 designers from Berlin and Ukraine. The two-day exhibition and talks highlight the importance of cooperation and shared responsibility during difficult times, showing how the fashion community can use its power to make positive change.

Art Direction and Book Design for Pauline Campbell’s Rice & Peas and Fish & Chips published by Imprint 27. For the cover and inside pages we created a bespoke typeface Gazette. The letterforms and layouts take inspiration from headlines found in the West Indian Gazette—Britain’s first major commercial black newspaper founded by activist Claudia Jones in 1958.
